Before our 1.5 year lap of Australia (2020 – 2021), I hand-built a 12V water transfer pump kit using my professional experience as a pumping and water systems designer, because I knew that our trip would be greatly enhanced by getting off-grid in the remotest parts of Australia. Remote area travel can be highly unpredictable, so improved water security is essential!
Our custom pump system revolutionised our lap as I had planned, saving us many thousands of $$ and quickly became our most prized piece of equipment which also caught the attention of other eagle-eyed travellers who regularly asked me if I could build a kit for them.
