Researching and planning a caravan trip – whether it’s a few days, a few weeks or a full lap – can be a huge undertaking. These days travellers are spoilt for choice when it comes to accessories, but it can also be overwhelming to whittle down the wish list to the essentials. So, what will you actually use?
Here’s our top 3 picks to help make your travels easier, safer and more enjoyable!
- Personal Locator Beacon
Sometimes the best-laid plans can come undone, especially in the outback, so we purchased some insurance in the form of a ‘Personal Locator Beacon’ (PLB); specifically, the ACR electronics ACR Reslink 400 model from BCF.
Once registered, you activate this beacon anywhere in the world in an emergency and the National emergency response facility in Canberra will know that you’re in trouble and will come looking for you.
Pretty cheap insurance for around $350 in my opinion, especially if you’re low on essentials like water, food and fuel and injured, broken down or lost and needing help!
Although just quietly, you won’t run out of water as quickly if you have an Adventure Pump (see below) as you can carry and transfer a larger volume of water with ease for your off-grid adventures.
- Caravan and Marine BBQ
I can say that I was thoroughly impressed with our ‘Caravan & Marine BBQ’ purchased from Brisbane Jayco Camperland.
